Dishwashers

1. Enter the litres per place setting into column (a) and the quantity into column (b). Litres per place setting can be derived from the figures quoted on the EU Energy Label.

2. Where dishwashers specified with varying litres per place setting are specified, use a separate row to input the litres per place setting (a) and quantity (b) of each design specification.

4. Click ‘Calculate’ to calculate the average litres per place setting and the weighted average litres per place setting. The larger of these 2 values will be carried forward to the ‘Water Calculator’ (column (1)).

Notes:

The weighted average litres per place setting is calculated as:

= Maximum litres per place setting (litres) x 0.7

Where the average litres per place setting is lower than the weighted average litres per place setting, the weighted average is entered into the ‘Water Calculator’. This is so that where the average litres per place setting is significantly lower than the maximum litres per place setting specified, the calculation limits the litres per place setting that can be assumed.]

Where no dishwasher is to be provided and, therefore, consumption figures are unknown, a figure of 1.25 litres per place setting is assumed.
